San Diego, Autumn 1986. Riku Ramirez is an exemplary student at San Diego High School. After school he teaches beginner karate at a local dojo. The apple fell far from the tree. Riku's father, a criminal and ex-member of a fearsome biker gang, took no part in Riku's upbringing. When Riku receives news that his father is dead, he feels little. All the same, he accepts the meager inheritance his father has left him; an enduro motorcycle and a souvenir jacket Riku's mother made. Wearing the jacket and riding the motorcycle give Riku a sense of belonging until a case of mistaken identity thrusts him into his father's world of crime and violence. What an AMAZING descriptive story. I felt like I could see every scene unfold in my minds eye. So we’ll written. I sure wish Samual would get better recognition. He’s a super talented author. You must also read shrove tide. Another favorite.

Wow! What a fantastic read. This one definitely kept me up way past my bedtime. It’s none stop action makes it impossible not to keep those pages turning. The nostalgic feel of the 80’s along with the San Diego setting will have you California dreaming. Intense emotions with this one, folks. Surely not going to disappoint.

Really cool story about a teenager discovering details about the life of a father he barely knew, which come back to haunt him and may destroy his life. I highly recommend this book!
